Introducing CyberCrowd a revolutionary new anonymous sharing platform, built in collaboration with the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Cyber Crime Unit, encouraging the information sharing of threats affecting organisations across the UK. If you want to see the cyber threats that face your sector, you are a few clicks away. Anonymous reporting mechanism means the app has the UK’s current cyber threat landscape

Cyber security and information management are issues every organisation faces. From SME to FTSE 100 companies, everyone has a responsibility to ensure their customer data is protected in line with current GDPR standards. Nevertheless, how can you protect your organisation against an ever-evolving threat? If you have not heard about the threat nor been able to put measures in place to safeguard your organisation you may be vulnerable to exploitation.
CyberCrowd app is a new sharing platform. The sanitized information input means you can share emerging cyber threats affecting your industry with fellow members in the sector. This sharing platform allows you to build defences to mitigate the risk posed by these threats while understanding the most current threats facing the country.
Due to the very nature of the cyber threat landscape, it is dynamic and progressive. We feel communication around cyber and data security threats could be improved if the risk of reputational damage was removed.
The purpose of the app is to aid information sharing across the country in a simple format, which gives raw data on the current cyber threat landscape. While this is not a platform to report live incidents, where you may need law enforcement intervention, it does have links to Action Fraud.
The CyberCrowd concept is simplicity. Once you have logged into the app there are two option; report or view statistics. We have minimised the app to allow it to be functional and direct to provide instant statistics.
If you report an incident, you can use ‘quick report’ or ‘detailed report’. Both reporting methods are easy to follow and are prefilled to enable your incident to be catalogued quickly adding to the existing data. This anonymised data is compiled and the statistical analysis of the region and threat are displayed as an easy read for a quick reference.
If you are on the app to check regional or national statistics these can be obtained in a variety of different data sets enabling you to keep one-step ahead of the threat. The data could also be used to assist in demonstrating to senior management how an increased threat could put your organisation’s output and reputation at risk, should they fall victim to a cyber threat.
